Moral Algorithms: Ethics, Data, and the Story Behind the System
This signature workshop explores how artificial intelligence systems learn from human behavior and why ethics and design matter in the technologies we use every day.
Participants examine how everyday digital activity, such as searches, likes, and shares, becomes the data that trains algorithms and shapes the systems we interact with online.
Through guided discussion and reflection, participants explore the role humans play in shaping responsible technology.

Design System Think Tank
Following the workshop discussion, participants engage in a collaborative, hands-on activity in which they imagine designing their own digital system.
Working individually or in small groups, participants explore
questions such as
• What problem would your system solve
• What type of data would it rely on
• How would you ensure fairness and responsibility in its design
This exercise helps participants recognize that technology is not just something we use. It is something humans design.
